When buying your first Virtual Horse.

When you first purchase your Horse from the sales ring you need to decide on the colour,name and if you want a filly or a colt.

The difference between the Filly and Colt is that you do not geld a filly to improve the horse , normally there is a two length difference on tts between them.Eg.Colt doing 7 is the same as a filly doing about 5.

You also need to remember that a Colt needs gelding and shoes, when applied this increases the time trials of the horses. Fillies need the shoes, apart from that then you try blinkers which may increase of decrease the time trials, so only keep them fitted for a positive approach.

Vitamins are only used as a fitness boost,they do not make you colt or filly perform better.Many owners only use vitamins if there horse is ready for a race and not fit enough.But remember using vitamins can increase fitness up to 10% so be very carefull and do not use if your horse is above 90% fitness.

Now its time to train your horse .

Trial your horse over the same course and going till you find the right distance.Start off at 1000m all the way up to 3200m.

You can train your horse up to 90% on the first day so this should find the right distance .When trialing over distances the way to find the best distance is when the trial times start to drop then the lower distance is probably better .Roughly 200m in distance the tts should show an increase by 0.5L or above.

Warning thou, make sure your horse beats the barrier before you decide to add the tacks because if they loose to the barrier they are not worth running.

Now its time to add on the shoes which should increase the horses trial times and if a colt the horse needs Gelding also which again should increase its trial times again .Once these tack items have been added then re-trial your horse untill it goes over 100% then down to 50%.

Second Cycle

On the horses 2nd cycle its time to find its best tracks and goings he/she like to run on.You have already found out the horses best distance so just train at that distance.

Once you have found the horses best going and track add on blinkers, again your horse could improve but also could go backwards with blinkers.Only race your horse when the blinkers give a positive result on your virtual horse .When your horse is brought up to 95 to 97% fit the horse is now ready to race.

Time to Race

Find a Maiden race over the horses best distance and going depending on the class of the horse what price you should pay to enter your horse .If you are not sure how good your horse is then ask for help on the owners forum or you can email me for advice.

G1 horses are a higher standard of horse with better prize money available in the races where as G2 horses are cheaper races but still great fun to win.G2 racing is becoming very popular racing please have a look at my page called inside G2 racing.
