Multi Distance Horses - G2
I like Multi Distance horses - Its very rare I buy a G2 horses unless its a Multi Distance horse.
Multi Distance horses are a bargain in the auctions and they are worth every penny.They have so much scope to race in G2 races.
Alot of people do not know they have a multi distance horse - reason is they do not know what is required for each distance.
Look for these horses if you want to build your stable of G2's
Yielding Horses
Yielding horses seem to be coming out more and more from the sales ring.Most have alot bigger time trials on Yielding compared to other goings.
If you have a bigger enough stable then be patient and wait for the right going - it's worth it in the end.
Do not pay over the odds for yielding specialists in the auctions,they have limited scope for racing
Some of us get a little bored with horses sitting in our stables,especially yielding specialists - get that finger off the nomination button and wait for the Yielding going.So many people run horses on the wrong going and you will find out in these Yielding races that most hate the going.
Monsters
Everyone hates the monsters but why!
Here is some interesting information.
1 . True Monsters seem to be only colts.What I mean by true monsters are Unleash The Beast,Auroborealis,La Gazza Ladra,Future Reflection,Davy Hill,SilverBullet Jonz,Nine Point Eight,Public Enemy Number 1 and Sir Sam Silver.(CLONES)
2 . Monsters have huge adds - that's big adds on shoes,blinkers and gelding.
3 . They can run from 1000m to 2850m.They have huge time trials from 1000m to 2200m and are way off all known charts.They are still top challenge at 2400m and 2850m but just lowish challange at 3200m.
4 . Monsters can run every day and win from low fitness because even at 50% they are top challenge.
5 . They normally go for the big prize money like Monday Madness and Eclipse races so thats the time to enter other races on those days.
6 . Monsters were very rare then all of a sudden four came out within a season of each other.
7 . Monsters can win off 140lbs, this is because of the huge time trials,take off the extra weight for distances and they become top challenge in these races.They still will need a good RF to win but are very beatable.
8 . You have Mini Monsters - these are horses that have huge time trials at two or three distances.They are specialists in these distances and do the same trial times as the True Monsters.
9 . You can have Monster Fillies - these dominate some age groups(age 2/age 3) as well as distances.A few seasons ago four specialist 1000m Fillies were pulled in one season.You also seem to get a couple of sprinters over 1200m/1400m,Quite a few classics and two or three stayers every season.But the fillies do not dominate like the colt Monsters.
What can be done?
You can either run your horses in lower class races,go for consolation races or sleep for future races.Once the monsters have too many wins then you have an open playing field with other types of races.
When you buy in the Auctions.
Do your home work first - do not pay over the odds when monsters are around.WFA,Levels races will be hard to win unless you get a good RF so think of this when you decide to buy.
Make sure you check the distances of the monsters that are running,you will become very limited to certain type of races as well as distances - why should you give away money to these monsters.
